Ricardo Merlo, a member of the Association of Fiscal Agents of Paraguay, questioned the draft resolution approved in the Senate that proposes suing prosecutors.

In this regard, he said that there are internal mechanisms to verify possible misconduct by fiscal agents, since they perform a very delicate function and must be as transparent as possible.

“The main premise is simple: transparency and accountability,” said Merlo, in a conversation with Universo 970 AM.

Likewise, he said that the institutions must provide the necessary information to the prosecutors so that the investigations have results and maintained that these types of complaints call into question the entire institution.

He also urged that they present complaints with grounds or important indications about the alleged misconduct of the members of the Public Ministry.
