Social and political movements grouped in the Antifascist International that meet at the Summit of Peoples for Peace and against War, in Caracas, advocate respect for international law.
Almaza Ahmed Maarouf, a member of the Palestinian National Council and political activist of the Palestinian communities in Europe, during their speech on Friday, said that civilizations face today a “brutal wild roller on the part of the global imperialism led by the United States, which seeks to impose their hegemony through military force and submission, ignoring international law.”
In this regard, he said that it is a regression where the strongest intends to impose itself on the weakest.
“What we call international law and international legality today were not born as a gift, or funny concessions, they are the fruit of great sacrifices (…), so these principles must be defended firmly,” said Almaza Ahmed Maarouf.
In that line, he expressed his recognition to Venezuela for his tireless efforts for peace, security and justice in the world.
“I bring you a fraternal, solidarity greeting, from a town that heroically fights daily (…) a greeting from the Palestinian direction headed by President Mahmud Abbas, (a people who fight and resists the constant aggression of Zionism supported by the United States. Our people send them a greeting and thanks for the samples of solidarity, brotherhood and fight in favor of the inalienable rights of the people Palestine, ”he said.
He stressed that Palestine is a constant victim of the Double Racer policy of the West, so “underlines the urgent need to unite global efforts to establish a more fair world order, more equitable and inclusive. A system that is based on respect for human rights, equality between peoples, absolute rejection of racism and the creation of equitable opportunities for all nations.”
