Since last March, 500 bars, cafes and restaurants that implement sustainable initiatives have already been geolocated.

The non-profit cocktail project Coctelería Consciente Starting in August, it will incorporate wineries, breweries, distilleries and beverage producers into its “mAPPA” of establishments with sustainable initiatives.

As of August 1, on Pachamama Day, these establishments can be added to the application in which they have been geolocated since last March 500 bars, cafes and restaurants that implement sustainable, inclusive and healthy initiatives in their daily operations.

“We believe that beverages are an innovative and close vehicle to become agents of change and, together with brands, bars and consumers, achieve real and scalable changes in society and the planet, improving the quality and living conditions of our generation and the future generations”, affirms its director Lucas Groglio.

According to the NGO, “today the public increasingly chooses to consume consciously and responsibly supporting those brands and projects that are in tune with its values; Many key industry players are already implementing initiatives with awareness but often with very little visibility.”

The sustainable and conscious production of beverages has enormous potential to have a positive and long-term impact on the communities of which they are a part, they maintain.

And they add that the beverage industry has been working in this direction for years and today the consumer recognizes, values ​​and chooses those brands and products that do so.

The incorporation of renewable energies such as solar panels or windmills, the reuse of organic material resulting from the production of beer, wine and distillates in by-products, the collection and reuse of rainwater for irrigation, the measurement and compensation of the footprint of carbon from the production and distribution of beverages, the incorporation of the circular economy for the design and production of 100% circular beverages are some of the sustainable initiatives that are currently being carried out by wineries, breweries and distilleries in Argentina, Latin America and the world.

In www.cocteleriaconsciente.org/mappa the user will be able to search by location, keyword, type of establishment or product, category and/or conscious initiatives, finding conscious and inclusive places and products.

The establishments -which can register for free by completing a form- can choose within the categories Renewable Energy, Environmental Impact, Inclusion and Diversity, Inclusive Menu, Responsible Suppliers, Social Responsibility, Health and Safety, and Professional Development.
