They accuse that JA Kast's family owns almost 200 liters per second in water rights

A report that crossed data from the General Water Directorate (DGA) and companies made up of the family of the presidential candidate Jose Antonio Kast (Christian Social Front), revealed that relatives of the aspiring to La Moneda – between four companies and two natural persons – own a total of 198.3 liters per second in water rights.

The figure revealed by Interference it would supply – considering the average consumption per person of 170 liters per day calculated by the Superintendency of Sanitary Services – to 100,783 people.

“The water rights come from different sources, some in regions with water scarcity such as the Metropolitan region, with rights over the Maipo River, and Los Lagos, from the Bueno and Puelo River,” the report said.

According to the aforementioned medium, they are consumptive water rights, that is, they are not returned to aquifers. They are also continuous and permanent. This contemplates that they can extract that amount of water without any restriction.

“It was not disqualified from voting against the reform of the Water Code”

Deputy Diego Ibanez (CS) echoed the information and summoned Kast for not being disqualified from the vote for the reform of the Water Code in 2016, when the candidate for La Moneda was a member of parliament.

“Kast’s family owns water rights that could supply 100,783 people. But in 2016 they were not disqualified from voting against the reform of the Water Code that ends their rights in perpetuity. They participated in a real estate company with more than 90 lt / sg, “Ibáñez wrote on his Twitter account.

“Likewise, the Republican Party deputy, (Ignacio) Urrutia, whose family owns participation in 7 agricultural / livestock companies, voted against and was not disqualified, as 6 deputies who owned water rights (LOC Congress) did,” he added. .
