In a scene of Steady drop in cattle values sent to work, the Rural Federation (FR) understands that the prices that the slaughterhouse industry has received for exported meatsalso with decreases in values, are not the explanation of the “abrupt decline in value received by producers”.
The rural entity considers, on the other hand, that there are circumstantial factors (the water deficitamong others) that allow the industry to “position itself better and put downward pressure on the market”.
In this context, the FR urged producers to monitor the rates published by the National Meat Institute (INAC), “as a way of being able to make the best decision when marketing their production”.
At the beginning of this week the Association of Livestock Shippers (ACG) disclosed as a price reference for the steer US$ 3.65 per kilo in the fourth scale, a value that was even adjusted in the following days in several businesses.
The reference is already a little more than US$2 per kilo below the values that existed three months ago, when they exceeded US$5.50 per kilo on more than one occasion (weekly references).
The price adjustment continues, accentuated by the climatic situation; long entries. #livestock #cattle raising #marketcattle #farmmarket #ruralbusinesses #we are reference pic.twitter.com/1L98TDzS2q

This Saturday, in the Agro supplement of The Observerin a report prepared by the consulting firm Blasina y Asociados It was indicated that “the free fall in prices continues, with rains that are still insufficient and signs of weakness coming from abroad (…) the price proposal this week is around US$3.30 to US$3.40 for the steer”.
At the same time, it is established that the decrease in the export price reported by the INAC has been gradual and until now without abrupt changes. Last week it was US$4,880 per ton and the value for the last 30 moving days, US$4,860, are prices very similar to those of the previous week.
Next, the statement that the FR referred to The Observer:
The producer Juan Miguel Silva, also in a tweet, expressed himself about the statement from the FR:
Good communication, it is important and part of the task, to keep the producer informed and alert to these situations

This Saturday also using Twitter the president of the RF, Martín Uría, declaredgoing to the crossroads to questions about the pronunciation of the ruralista entity.
There is some statement saying that RF by statements seeks protagonism. And the truth is that he is not looking for it, we producers are the main protagonists in the production. When in a soccer team the coach thought he was the protagonist and not the players, they left.
