Although it was planned to make the adjustment as of December 31, 2024, with this regulation the dates would be changed. In total, three scheduled increases would be made next year.
How the increases would be made
The first thing to keep in mind is that, by law, the passage values of these stations must be updated annually based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of the immediately previous year.
In that sense, and as part of the Government’s strategy to normalize these prices, An increase of 4.64% is still pending. This figure corresponds to 50% of the 9.28% of the 2023 CPI, which did not apply in its entirety after rates were frozen in January of that same year.
According to the resolution, This increase would be implemented in two phases.

The first increase would take effect on January 1, 2025 and would be 60% of the pending value, that is, an increase of 2.78% would be applied. The second, on the other hand, would come into effect on April 1 of next year and would correspond to 40% remaining, which translates into an increase of 1.86%.
Along these lines, the Ministry of Transportation indicated that, to facilitate the operation and collection of fares from users, the price resulting from the increase in these percentages will be approximated, by excess or by default, to the nearest hundred.
Now, although with these increases Toll rates in Colombia will be updated with inflation in 2023the increase corresponding to the 2024 CPI would still remain.
According to the document, the third adjustment would come into force on January 16, 2025. Based on the Government’s inflation estimates for the end of the year, the percentage increase would be above 5%.
