The excuse of the constitution

Sigrid in her maze

Congresswoman Sigrid Bazán (Cambio Democrático – Together for Peru) used her Twitter account to refer to the work of the Labor Commission regarding the reform of the pension system. Although she says that no one should be left out, what she does not understand is why she asks that this go hand in hand with a new Constitution. Will the pension reform finally proceed or will they also put an obstacle, as happened with the early elections?

Did not attend tax appointment

PNP chief at fault

The general commander of the PNP, Raúl Alfaro, did not attend for the second consecutive time to testify before the Special Team against Corruption of the Power of the Public Ministry. Before the Prosecutor’s Office, Alfaro had to give his testimonial statement regarding the link he would have had with Jorge Hernández Fernández, alias ‘El Español’, now imprisoned for allegedly being the operational arm of the parallel intelligence system that Pedro Castillo intended to install in Peru . The police chief was summoned for Friday and then for yesterday. The famous photo in which they appear together in a ceremony is giving him more than one headache.

project against the press

Popular Renovation congresswoman Noelia Herrera has come out of anonymity in an unhappy way, presenting a bill to demand that only licensed and registered journalists be able to practice their profession in the country. According to her –perhaps thinking that with the gag she will put an end to the criticism of her group or its leader–, only in this way will it be possible to “end the media hit man without professional ethics”.

contravenes the rules

The initiative, as expected, has brought serious questions. According to the IPYS legal adviser, Roberto Pereira, if the proposal is approved, the rule would place the State in “flagrant situation of contravention” with international treaties. “This is a bill that is directly contrary to the free exercise of journalism defined by the Court-IDH, which qualifies the requirement of membership or academic qualifications for the exercise of journalism as contrary to freedom of expression,” he said. Like that or more clear?
