Caracas will have major road closures this Thursday due to campaign closures by the ruling party and the Unitary Platform
This Thursday, July 25, Caracas once again becomes a hotbed of political activity due to the closing of the campaigns of the PSUV and the Unitary Platform. The ruling party had already announced that its activity would be from 10 in the morning to 10 at night “throughout the city,” while the opposition sector that supports Edmundo González Urrutia revealed on the afternoon of Wednesday 24 the place where they would be celebrating their event.
The head of government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, announced Wednesday, July 24 The “Our Venezuela” Campaign Command plans to hold the closing campaign of candidate Nicolás Maduro, who will seek a third term in the elections on July 28, on Bolívar Avenue in Caracas this Thursday, July 25.
Fernández, who is also the coordinator of mobilization for the campaign command, said that the activity will take place on Francisco de Miranda Avenue, from Petare (east) and Sucre Avenue, Catia (west), to Bolívar Avenue in Caracas.

In this regard, the National Institute of Land Transit (INTT) asked citizens to take precautions for the temporary closure of Bolívar, Urdaneta, Lecuna, Fuerzas Armadas, Mexico, University, Andrés Bello and Francisco Solano avenues.

For his part, the mayor of the Chacao municipality, Gustavo Duque, indicated that the Ministry of Interior and Justice issued guidelines on traffic restrictions in Caracas.
He explained that Libertador Avenue – at the height of La Campiña – will be closed and partial closures will be added on Thursday, July 25 on Francisco de Miranda Avenue; he also detailed that platforms are installed in Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Park (Parque del Este) and Francisco Solano Avenue, which generates a total closure of roads.
It is recommended to use the expressways: Francisco Fajardo and Avenida Boyacá (Cota Mil), as alternatives to avoid traffic jams.
A message circulated on messaging services reads as follows:
- Libertador Avenue, closed in both directions. Stage located in La Campiña. Stage located at CANTV
- Av. Francisco de Miranda, closed in the East-West direction at Chacao.
- Av. Bolívar closed in both directions. Platform installed at the height of Centro Simón Bolívar.
- Av. Boyacá (Cota Mil), closed in the East-West direction. Access to Chacao and Altamira from Av. Boyacá, closed.
- Francisco Fajardo Highway, partial closure is expected starting at 10:00 am in the West direction.
- Regional Central Highway, with PNB checkpoint at Charallave and Hoyo de la Puerta, heavy traffic.
- Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Highway, with a checkpoint at the Metropolitan interchange. Heavy traffic heading towards Caracas.
- The closure of the Chacaíto, Chacao, Altamira and Francisco de Miranda Metro stations is expected
In addition, the main avenue of Las Mercedes will be closed from 4:00 pm for the closing activity of the campaign in Caracas by the Unitary Platform.
