These are the non-business days of banks in 2026

What days will there be no banks in 2026?

In accordance with what was established by the CNBV and published in the DOF, the days on which there will be no open banks in 2026 are as follows:

I. January 1

II. The first Monday of February 2026 in commemoration of February 5

III. The third Monday of March 2026 in commemoration of March 21

IV. On April 2 and 3, 2026

V. May 1, 2026

VI. On May 5, 2026

VII. September 16, 2026

VIII. On November 2, 2026 and the third Monday of that month in commemoration of November 20.

IX. Saturdays and Sundays

According to official information, these days credit institutions must close the doors of their branches and suspend operations. However, ATMs and mobile banking do offer their services to bank customers.

“In the period from December 22, 2025 to January 6, 2026, the deadlines set in calendar days for the National Banking and Securities Commission to resolve the appropriate matters regarding the procedures or procedures that are managed before it and that are in the process of attention will be understood to be suspended,” details the official publication.

Therefore, there will be a two-week holiday period: from December 22 to 26, 2025; from December 29, 2025 to January 2, 2026, as well as January 5 and 6, 2026, in relation to procedures carried out before the CNBV.

Furthermore, article 2 states that financial institutions may close their doors when they deem it necessary for reasons of national security or public interest.
