These are the new conditions if you want to travel to Venezuela

After the presidential elections in Venezuela, The Government has put more restrictive measures in place for travelers who wish to reach the neighboring country. Additionally, some of the airlines have stopped operating important routes or completely exited operations there due to the same. Now, Latam Airlines informed passengers traveling to Venezuela that the Government of this country has established new measures to enter its territory, which apply immediately.

The measures imposed now are:

1. Venezuelan passengers must have their Venezuelan passport valid at the time of travel.

2. If you do not have a valid Venezuelan passport, you must request a “Travel Documents” from the Venezuelan Consulate or Embassy accredited abroad and register it with the airline at least 72 hours before boarding.

3. Venezuelans with a Venezuelan identity card will not be allowed to board, even if it is valid.

4. Those Venezuelan passengers who have dual nationality must present a valid Venezuelan Passport. If the Venezuelan Passport is expired, you will not be able to board even if you have your passport of your other valid nationality.

Copa Airlines departure

According to an official communication sent by the Ministry of Transportation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela decided to temporarily suspend all commercial air flights between Panama and Venezuela since the elections.

“The decision does not depend on us; it is an issue between governments and we abide by what the authorities of the countries where we fly have. But what I can tell you is that our intention is to fly, it is to connect, because that is in our purpose. We have never gotten involved in political issues of any kind. We connect all the Americas as best as possible and we know that Venezuela needs that Copa connectivity, because that has been proven, but well, we remain at the disposal of what the authorities say,” Marco Antonio Ocando, marketing director of Copa Airlines, said at the time.

To date, the giant has not managed to reestablish its flights.
