The New York Times obtained a list of 53 men that the United States National Security Department has sent from a Texas Migrant Detention Center to a penitentiary building of the Military Base of the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The US government has not revealed the names of migrants, but has described them as Venezuelan citizens on which a definitive order of expulsion from the country weighs. Not revealing identities, the government has prevented their relatives from knowing where they are being held and has made the efforts of lawyers who want to challenge their arrest more difficult, says Nyt.
The Times has found 50 of the 53 list migrants in the online detainees location system of the US Migration Service, which allows the public to search for people by name.

Relatives of Venezuelan migrants demand Trump
A group of humanitarian organizations, representing relatives of three Venezuelan migrants sent to the Naval Base of Guantanamo, in Cuba, presented a Demand against Donald Trump’s government.
They affirm that these nationals are incommunicado, for which it is urgent to guarantee access to information on detention conditions and due process for those affected, as EFE said.
The lawsuit, which includes the sister of one of the detainees, was filed by the US Union for Civil Liberties (ACLU) and the Center for Constitutional Rights, among other groups, organizations reported Wednesday.
The complaint mentions Eucaris Carolina Gómez Lugo, who learned of his brother’s arrest after seeing a photograph published by the US government.
“By sending immigrants to a remote island, isolating them from lawyers and family, the government is demonstrating their contempt for the rule of law,” said Lee Gellnt, of the Acu immigrant rights project.
In this sense, they warn that this practice could sit a dangerous precedent by allowing the government to bedural to persons in remote facilities without legal guarantees.
