The Sandinista deputies canceled the legal status of 10 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), including the Association for Agricultural Development (EXPICA), chaired by former presidential candidate Óscar Sobalvarro, vice president of the outlawed Citizens for Freedom (CxL) party.
The cancellation was carried out urgently this Monday, at the request of the Ministry of the Interior, for alleged breach of obligations by the organizations. With this annihilation, there are already more than a thousand canceled in less than four years.
During the session, the deputies also ratified the financing agreement signed by Nicaragua and the World Bank for an additional 116 million dollars for the COVID-19 Emergency Response Project in the country, for a total of 136 million dollars approved. by the multilateral entity to the regime.
The Blue and White National Unity (UNAB) remembered the 43rd anniversary of the overthrow of Somocism in Nicaragua with the expulsion of Anastasio Somoza Debayle from the country on July 17, declared “Day of Joy.” The opposition organization pointed out that the fall of Somoza showed that “no dictatorship is eternal and the desire for freedom always prevails over the corrupt and criminals.”

On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the overthrow of the Somocista dictatorship, Nicaraguan opposition organizations demanded the “immediate exit” of the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, as well as the release of the more than 190 political prisoners, respect for public freedoms and the safe return of exiles.
