Monsignor Rolando Alvareza critic of the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, will face the initial hearing on Tuesday accused of alleged conspiracy to undermine national integrity and propagation of false news to the detriment of the State and Nicaraguan society.
The initial hearing will be in charge of the judge of the tenth criminal hearing district of Managua, Gloria María Saavedra Corrales, who must decide whether to send the case to an oral and public trial, and whether or not to maintain preventive detention.

More than 40 hooded police officers and men in civilian clothes arbitrarily arrested the professor and former politician Juan Bautista Guevara Carballoinhabitant of the municipality of Ticuantepe, in Managua.
The violent arrest occurred early Monday morning on the teacher’s property. The officers beat Guevara and one of his sons when they mistook him for the opponent. The former politician suffered police siege and was unemployed due to political discrimination. It is unknown where he was taken. This is what a family member told us:
The newspaper La Prensa denounced that the Nicaraguan regime will start up the printing press that was seized from it in August 2021 and has since been taken over by the Police.
According to unofficial information, the regime rehired personnel specialized in managing the commercial printing press and acquired supplies for the operation of the equipment.
The regional organization Voces del Sur denounced on this day that 2022 was grim for press freedom in Nicaragua. Last year 93 journalists were forced into exile.

The magistrates confirmed the sentence to life imprisonment declared against Ernesto Caleb Rocha Third for the femicide of Karen Blandon Blen, 21 years old.
The defense asked the magistrates to reduce the sentence to 30 years in prison, alleging that Rocha Tercero “is a primary prisoner, had no criminal record and had admitted the facts,” but it was denied.
The femicide will serve his sentence in the Jorge Navarro Penitentiary System, known as “La Modelo”, in Tipitapa.
At least 1,200 people were detained in Brazil after the invasion of the National Congress, executed seven days after the inauguration of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
