The trial against the religious of the diocese of Matagalpa was recorded as the second longest process with political overtones of the justice of the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
This Thursday marked four days of hearing. The regime paraded about 12 alleged witnesses, fans, and police officers. At night, the Ortega justice found the seven accused guilty and the Prosecutor’s Office requested ten years in prison.

The defendants are the priests Ramiro Tijerino, José Luis Díaz and Sadiel Eugarrios; the deacon Raul Antonio Vega; the seminarians Melkin Rye Y Darvin Leiva; and the cameraman Sergio Cardenas, all close Bishop Rolando Álvarez, to whom the regime charges the alleged crimes of conspiracy and propagation of false news to the detriment of the State.
Dr. Vilma Núñez, president of the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights (Cenidh), denounced that the objective of the regime in delaying an anomalous trial is to try to “maintain in the collective imagination the idea that it is a terrible crime and that the person behind it is Monsignor Rolando Álvarez».
Political prisoners Mildred Rayo and Miguel Flores, Members of the Nicaraguan University Alliance (AUN) were found guilty of the alleged crimes of “conspiracy to undermine national integrity and propagation of false news.”
The Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights (Cenidh) denounced that Miguel Flores “was in the worst defenselessness” because they did not even allow him a private lawyer.
The Nicaraguan Prosecutor’s Office requested Judge Félix Ernesto Salmerón, 10 years in prison for Flores and eight for Rayo.
The Nicaraguan Foreign Ministry formalized the removal of its counselor minister with consular functions in Spain, Miracles of Carmen Urbina Rochawho last December was transferred to Colombia with the same functions.
Urbina Rocha held the post in Spain for six years. The official defines herself on her social networks as a “Rubenian Sandinista diplomat”, alluding to the poet Rubén Darío.

The National Microfinance Commission (Conami) published this Thursday the resolution confirming the cessation of operations of the financial institution for “not having the intention of continuing to develop microfinance activities” and after having canceled its obligations.
Finca’s entire loan portfolio was sold to the Company for the Support and Development of Micro and Small Urban and Rural Enterprise SA (MyCredit SA), a year ago.
The causes of the closure have not been clarified by the extinct microfinance institution, however, in 2021 it was indicated that the drop in the institution’s numbers would be what caused the closure of all its branches that year.
