The Nicaraguan regime reacted furiously and offensively against the governments of Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic, to whom it uttered a series of epithets ranging from “serving them” to “insane” for having postponed the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Central American Integration System (SICA), where the proposal of candidates for secretary general of the regional organization was to be discussed.
The meeting of the heads of diplomacy of the countries that make up SICA was scheduled for December 4, and the new alternatives to occupy that high position on behalf of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo would be presented.

The postponement of the meeting of foreign ministers is assumed as a new rejection of the postulates of the Managua dictatorship. This time, the regime took care that the names were not leaked to avoid complaints from human rights defenders and the opposition, but it was of no use.
The position assumed by the four countries that decided to reject the Nicaraguan candidates provoked a virulent reaction from the Sandinista Executive.
He issued a communication signed by Foreign Minister Valdrack Jaentschke, but due to its style and content it is notable that it was written by Murillo; in which he attacks the Guatemalan, Costa Rican, Panamanian and Dominican governments.
In the communication, the Ortega-Murillo administration presents to the member countries of SICA “the most energetic protest against the insolent and disrespectful attitude” of the governments of Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic, which it accuses of ignoring “the independence and sovereignty of our countries in evident servility and extra-regional interests.
Likewise, the official communication indicates that “they reject those inappropriate features of our culture and fraternal duties in this world where ignorance and irresponsibility are leaving so much backwardness and painful occurrences for peoples who, like ours, cry out for the right to live safely, calm and advancing against imposed poverty.

The director of the Transportation Regulatory Institute of the Municipality of Managua (Irtramma), Amaru Ramírez, in an interview with official media, revealed that since October of last year to date, 1,500 Chinese buses have arrived in Nicaragua, of the 2,000 they are scheduled to acquire in this “first stage.”
The Sandinista regime and its officials put on a show with the arrival of each batch of Chinese buses, bringing out the units in caravans and militants with Sandinista Front flags to greet them as they pass through the departmental capitals. However, they hide the price, transformed into debt for Nicaraguans, which must be paid for each unit to the Yutong company.
In June 2023, Ramírez signed, together with Ariel Meng, representative of Yutong, an agreement in which Nicaragua committed to acquire a total of 500 Chinese buses from that company, without specifying the amount for which they were acquired or the source of financing. of these.
The number of buses to be purchased was subsequently known to have increased, since the vice president and spokesperson for the Sandinista Front, Rosario Murillo, indicated that by the end of 2024 they would complete the acquisition of 2,000 units.
