Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Labor announced this Wednesday the official list of Holidays corresponding to the year 2026in compliance with the Law 139-97which regulates the transfer of holidays in the Dominican Republic.

The regulations, in force since 1997, establish that Holidays that fall between Tuesday and Friday must be moved to the nearest Mondayin order to promote work planning and promote internal tourism.

This is how the holidays of 2026 will remain in the Dominican Republic

January

  • Thursday, January 1: New Year (does not change).
  • Tuesday, January 6: Day of the Holy Kings, work is done; the holiday is moved to Monday, January 5.
  • Wednesday, January 21: Day of Our Lady of Altagracia (does not change).
  • Monday, January 26: Birth of Juan Pablo Duarte (does not change).

February

  • Friday, February 27: National Independence Day (immovable).

April

  • Friday April 3: Good Friday (does not change).

May

  • Friday, May 1: Labor Day, you work; the holiday goes to Monday May 4.

June

  • Thursday June 4: Corpus Christi (does not change).

August

  • Sunday August 16: Restoration Day (does not change).

September

  • Thursday, September 24: Day of Our Lady of Mercedes (not changed).

November

  • Friday, November 6: Constitution Day, work is done; the holiday is moved to Monday, November 9.

December

  • Friday, December 25: Christmas (does not change).
