The National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) revealed the unemployment data in March 2022. According to the entity, the rate was 12.1%, 2.6 percentage points less compared to 14.7% in March 2021.

Compared to February 2022, the decrease was 0.8 percentage points (12.9%).
However, in some cities the figure hit harder. The ones with the highest unemployment rate were: Quibdó (23.7%), Valledupar (17.1%) and Tunja (16.4%). It is followed by Montería, Popayán and Riohacha.
In contrast, those with lower unemployment were Bucaramanga AM (9.8%), Armenia (9.8%) and Villavicencio (11.0%).
Now, the average unemployment in the cities is 13.5%. Regarding coverage, regarding quality measures, there were places where more than 100% was completed. This is the case of Armenia, Barranquilla, Bogotá and Bucaramanga.
Along with this, the Dane showed that the population outside the labor force has decreased. Within this group of people, the majority are engaged in household chores (8,225) and another smaller group to study (3,275 people).

Finally, the entity reported that the sectors that contributed the most to the rate reduction were manufacturing industriespublic administration and defense, education and human health care, and transportation and storage.
