These are the bridges and overpasses that will be closed this week for maintenance

Santo Domingo.- The The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will close to vehicular traffic, starting this Monday, July 22, and until Saturday, July 27, various structures in Greater Santo Domingo, including overpasses and bridges, in order to carry out conditioning works.

Closing hours will be after 10:00 p.m., until the work is completed.

The work to be carried out includes solid waste collection, sweeping and collecting aggregates, weed control, general cleaning of the surroundings and drainage, painting of elements, electrical work, among others.

From Monday to Friday, the elevated road on 27 de Febrero Avenue and the Francisco J. Peynado bridge will be closed.

While from Monday to Wednesday the tunnel on Las Américas Avenue, between Venezuela and Sabana Larga, is closed.

Maintenance work will be carried out on the tunnel on Núñez de Cáceres Avenue on Monday and Thursday.

Only on Monday will it be done at the overpasses of Mirador Sur Avenue with Italia, Núñez de Cáceres with Cayetano Germosén, Independencia, and George Washington, at the overpasses of the Duarte Highway with Los Beisbolistas and Monumental Avenues, and at Charles de Gaulle Avenue with the highway to San Isidro and the Mella Highway.

On Tuesday, the Jacobo Majluta Bridge over the Isabela River, the Jacobo Majluta overpass with La Isabela Highway, the overpasses of Luperón Avenue with 30 de Mayo Highway, and Winston Churchill Avenue with John F. Kennedy (in both directions) will be closed.

The burned-out streetlights on the Jacobo Majluta Avenue bridge over the Isabela River will be replaced on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Wednesday, the overpasses on Ortega y Gasset Avenue and 27 de Febrero, Máximo Gómez and Duarte Avenue (dry bridge), and the Ozama and Gregorio Luperón bridges will be completely closed.

Also on the elevated highways of Máximo Gómez with Nicolás de Ovando, 27 de Febrero with Ortega y Gasset, and the tunnel of Ortega y Gasset Avenue.

On Thursday, the following overpasses will also be closed: the Sánchez highway with Independencia Avenue (Kilometer 12), the Quinto Centenario Expressway with Duarte Avenue, San Martín, and Hermanos Pinzón Street; the Jacobo Majluta bridge (close to the entrance to Guaricanos) and the Konrad Adenauer Avenue overpass with Hermanas Mirabal.

For Friday and Saturday, the overpasses on the Duarte Highway at Kilometer 13 with Avenida República de Colombia and Prolongación 27 de Febrero are affected.

On Friday, the bridges on the 6 de Noviembre highway, the Sánchez highway, Ramón Matías Mella, and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez highways, and the Duarte highway overpass with Duarte street (Los Alcarrizos) will also be affected.

Likewise, at the overpasses of the 27 de Febrero Extension with the 6 de Noviembre Highway, Padre Castellanos Avenue with Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, and the tunnel on the Las Américas Avenue marginal.

Also, at the control centers of the tunnels on Las Américas Avenue, Ortega y Gasset (UASD), and 27 de Febrero between Churchill and Lincoln avenues, said works do not warrant closure.

On Saturday the 27th, the John F. Kennedy Expressway overpasses at Luperón Avenue (Kilometer 9), Kilometer 14 of the Duarte Highway (dry bridge), and San Vicente de Paul Avenue at Venezuela will be closed.
