The beginning of a new year always brings expectations, and in Chili2025 promises to be especially generous with holidays and long weekends, offering more opportunities for rest than 2024. From traditional celebrations to specific days for some regions, the holiday calendar invites you to plan ahead.
2025 will start with the holiday of New Year on Wednesday, January 1, a day that cannot be waived for most workers. Throughout the year, dates such as Good Friday (April 18) and Labor Day (May 1) are added, which are also essential. Among the new features, the holiday on Friday, June 20, which celebrates the National Day of Indigenous Peoples, stands out, providing a new long weekend for many.
September is shaping up to be a special month, with the 18th and 19th —Independencia National and Army Glory Day—which fall on Thursday and Friday, respectively. This creates an extensive four-day weekend to enjoy with family or travel. For its part, Christmas, which this year will be on a Thursday, is added to the list of unmissable holidays along with the New Year.
Regions with their own celebrations
Some locations in the country will have holidays exclusive, such as Saturday, June 7 in Arica, to commemorate the Assault and Taking of Morro de Arica, and Wednesday, August 20 in Chillán and Chillán Viejo, for the birth of the hero of independence.
The year 2025 will have several extended weekends ideal for getaways, including Easter (April 18 to 20) and National Holidays (September 18 to 21). Furthermore, December will close the calendar with the holiday of the Immaculate Conception, forming a break from December 6 to 8.
With this panorama, 2025 is shaping up to be an ideal year to enjoy more days off, organize trips and take advantage of the holidays to disconnect from everyday life. It’s time to mark the calendar!
