Unions and the Government continue with negotiations.
News Colombia.
Information about an alleged trucker strike at 12 midnight on this holiday Monday, January 6, Kings Bridge, caused great concern among tourists and travelers who are on vacation in different places in the country.
The mere thought that the return home could be cut short by a blockade on the country’s main roads put a damper on many, however, in the last few hours they have found relief with a statement from transport union organizations.

Through the letter, the union ratified the intention to maintain dialogue with the Government: “At this time we are in a permanent assembly and in processes of consultation and socialization with our transport bases.”
Of course, if the agreements are not respected, the truckers would start a strike in the short term, as explained by Anderson Quiceno, director of the Association of Cargo Transporters (ATC), in dialogue with La W.
«It depends on the next 15 days. There we will go and see what the measures are, what are we calling for a strike? Yes, but the idea is not to affect the civil community or the rest of the interests of Colombians,” he said in the interview.
«We demand social responsibility (from the Government). “They were four wasted months where they ignored the recommendations and always imposed themselves on the country’s transportation bases,” says another point in the statement.
Finally, the unions asked to unite in their fight: “The non-compliance is clear and we are working to enforce them.”
