There is no renewal in traditional parties

Most of the candidates for Parliament by the traditional parties do not present renewal, more than 60% of the candidates are legislators who seek rekutu or at some point already held a seat in Congress and now intend to return.

The problem is often not with the voters, who also tend to vote for worn-out politicians, but with the political parties themselves, because they did not renew their figures, they continue to bet on discredited figures, so much so that currently there are people linked to corruption and drug trafficking on the list of candidates for the National Congress.

In democracy, the presence of political parties is valued because they are the ones that support democracy, however, if our political representatives are stained people, it somehow negatively affects democratic quality.

Political parties should promote schools of leadership and encourage civic culture to have in their ranks a varied and renewed profile of possible candidates, so that voters have more electoral offer.

Political parties and nucleations play an essential role in democracy and its quality, and this implies that parties have a share of responsibility in the formation of new political leaders.

In fact, one of the most strident criticisms of the Paraguayan political system is the leadership that is formed based on economic resources, it is the leadership that is bought and that is often far from the citizenry and its problems.

Although there is not so much electoral offer on the part of the traditional parties, at least for the Congress, the voters could do their thing to collaborate with democracy and Paraguay, casting a responsible and judicious vote. The power of citizens can also help the democratic health of the country.
