Hospital accepts suspension of surgeries
Separately, the Children’s Hospital of Mexico acknowledged that it has canceled some surgeries this year. In most cases, he said, it was due to “preventive medical criteria” and the prioritization of urgent cases.
Through an information card released by the federal Ministry of Health, the hospital explained that some procedures are canceled when “temporary clinical conditions” occur, such as respiratory infections and other conditions that could increase the risk during surgery.

They are also suspended due to “operational institutional factors, mainly the immediate attention of emergencies or the extension of complex procedures.”
But the hospital did not detail the reasons for canceling the surgeries that do not fall into those cases, although it assured that they will be resumed in a short time.
“The average rescheduling remains within a range of a few days, and all cases receive timely follow-up,” he said.
Between January and September 2025, he explained, 2,286 surgical procedures were carried out at the hospital.
