The president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Minister Cármen Lúcia, said on Tuesday (19) that there is ill will with the presence of women in the courts of the country.
The statement occurred in the trial in which the TSE overturned its own determination to Next appointment of the Regional Electoral Court of Rio de Janeiro (TRE-RJ) for the chair intended for law is made by means of a triple list formed only by lawyers.
During the session, Carmen Lúcia said she learned that some courts are waiting for her to leave the TSE presidency next year to try to overthrow the resolution of the court that determines gender alternation in the nominations to the three.
“There are courts and people who have said they are waiting for my departure next year so as not to need the resolution. The ill will is obvious with the presence of women,” he said.
As determined by Resolution 23,746, approved in March this year, the Triplic lists to fill vacancies in the Electoral Court should be composed of men and women, aiming to match the percentage of gender.
TRE-RJ
In the specific case of TRE-RJ, the TSE went back and decided that the next list for the succession of electoral judge Fernando Marques de Campos Cabral Filho, in the chair intended for jurists, should not be formed only by women, as previously decided.
The change occurred from a matter of order raised by Minister André Mendonça. For the minister, the List of men only for the judge’s succession was approved before the TSE resolution. Thus, the determination for formation of the female list cannot be imposed on the court.
The understanding was unanimously endorsed.
