The proposal indicates that people who are part of the age group of the Ministry of Health, and who want to participate in massive events, must have the complete vaccination schedule. The last dose should be applied 14 days before the celebration of the event.
The project, although it was postponed, was not withdrawn. Ramírez is only waiting for an official Health position on the initiative. However, the health portfolio, through Julio Borba, Minister of Health, has not expressed an official position, even though he indicates that he welcomes the document in several interviews.
The next session of the Permanent Commission will be on Wednesday, February 2, until that day Ramírez awaits the Health report. In case of not having the position yet, the deputy will analyze if he presents the project without having said report.
RAMIREZ
Hugo Ramírez, Colorado national deputy, said that they have not yet formally received a report from the Ministry of Health, which is the governing body, but, based on some actions taken by the ministry, they suggest that they will be in favor of the initiative.
“50% of the law is already being executed by the ministry, by requiring the health pass for people who come from abroad and want to enter the country. Only the other half that is related to social events is missing,” he said.
Last week, Migrations reported that a total of 14 foreigners were rejected for not having the full doses of vaccination. It should be remembered that since January 12 the national health protocol establishes that the unvaccinated cannot enter the country.
In this regard, the legislator celebrated the determination, since our country cannot become a friendly ground for the world’s anti-vaccines. In his opinion, this will affect the local economy and health.
INCOHERENCES
Health took a firm stance on foreigners arriving in the country, however, they are hesitant about doing the same with resident compatriots. Regarding this inconsistency, Ramírez affirmed that Salud does not have the courage to make that decision. That is to say, he lacks the courage to support the “health pass”.
“The ministry is fishing for Parliament to make the decision. From the knowledge they have, they know well that this is the way to make that decision,” he said.
Regarding the criticism he received for being the promoter of the project, he stated that his decisions will not please everyone, and that he does not want everyone to like him either.
“If I want to leave a useful tool, that after the years it can be understood that it is something useful to get out of the pandemic. It is something that has to be done so that the people do not have so many pressures, both in health and in the economy,” he said.
MEDINA
Idalia Medina, president of the Alto Paraná Physicians Association, expressed that she welcomes the approval of the health pass. He regretted that some people, just on a whim, do not want to be vaccinated.
“The health pass is already required worldwide. Health has a hard time approving the bill. I think they want to kick around and see what happens as long as the cases continue to rise. These types of measures are decisions that the public dislikes and they do not want a new conflict. Drastic decisions have to be made and stop being populist”, he sentenced.
