So far in 2024 at least 52 women have lost their lives at the hands of their partners and ex-partners, the Minister of Women reported this Tuesday, Mayra Jimenez.
He said the bloody figures add the 4 femicides recordeds in the country in the last 10 days.
Although he explained that the statistics have decreased, he does not stop worrying about the scourge.
“A single case, a single life that is lost, Dominican society has to know,” said the official.

According to the data posted on the Attorney General’s Office from January to May 2023, 30 femicides.
While in 2024 for the same semester the victims were 34, plus 18, which until this month of October adds up to 52 women who have died at the hands of their romantic partners.
