In the Congress, there are many more constitutional complaints against President Pedro Castillo awaiting attention in the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations. One has a report that recommends disabling it and another has just entered the agenda this Monday the 3rd, in which it will be seen whether or not it proceeds.
According to congressional sources, there would be up to 16 constitutional complaints against Castillo in the Subcommittee chaired by legislator Lady Camones, Alliance for Progress. The last one was announced by Congressman Edward Málaga and refers to the use of the presidential plane to transport his nephew Fray Vásquez, according to indications.
Tomorrow, the group must decide the qualification of another complaint against Castillo, presented by the lawyer Gonzalo Ortiz de Zeballos, on crimes of prohibited financing of political organizations, falsification of information on contributions, income and expenses of political organizations, legally prohibited sources of financing and criminal organization.
An already advanced complaint is the aforementioned alleged treason for saying that he would consult the people about giving sea to Bolivia in an interview with CNN. This has a report that recommends disabling Castillo.
“The denunciation of treason against the country is unsustainable because Castillo did not refer to giving sea to Bolivia because Bolivia’s claim is to go out to sea through Chile, and furthermore, that crime consists of subjecting the country to foreign domination or making a part independent”, says constitutional lawyer Omar Cairo, professor at the Catholic University (PUCP).
“The relevant complaints are those that refer to violation of the Constitution because, if it is proven that he violated it, Congress can sanction him with dismissal, because the valid mechanism is not vacancy but impeachment for constitutional infraction”, he adds.

“They have prioritized the denunciation of treason because it is the only one that can suspend the president, the others would remain in the investigation phase, because due to a constitutional impediment they could not be the subject of an accusation,” says constitutionalist William Oblitas, a professor at the Antenor Orrego University in Trujillo.
“There are complaints that, in order to meet deadlines, the Subcommittee must address. It is surprising that after almost a year some do not realize it. It is a lack of observance to be corrected.
There are complaints that do not meet requirements, but others highlight social importance such as the one referring to the restriction of freedom on April 5 last”, asserts.
He warns that the complaint about the use of the presidential plane must be summary. This case already receives some comments.
