There are 43 cases of cholera in the Dominican Republic

Cholera cases in the Dominican Republic increased to 43 after Public health will notify this Sunday 7 new ones.

According to a press release from SP, six Dominicans, four male and two female, residing in Villa Liberación and the Solares del Almirante in Santo Domingo Este are the most recent confirmed cases. Added to them is an imported case, corresponding to a male patient of Haitian nationality.

The patients were admitted between January 26 and 27, after presenting whitish watery diarrhea accompanied by vomiting.

On Wednesday the 25th, SP confirmed two foreigners and the remaining three Dominicans, residents of the Santo Domingo metropolitan area had tested positive for cholera.

Last Sunday, another six cases of the bacterial disease were reported, two of them corresponding to a 56-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman of Dominican nationality, who reside in Villa Liberación and the Solares del Almirante, respectively.
