The Zócalo of CDMX brings together followers of singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat

The first concert took place at the Beacon Theater in New York on April 27, and the tour is scheduled to end at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona on December 23.

The singer visited President Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the National Palace hours before the presentation.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City deployed a security and road operation in the capital’s Zócalo, Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, for the Serrat concert.

The SSC deployed 630 uniformed personnel, supported by 62 official units, two tow trucks, two ambulances from the Rescue and Emergency Medical Squadron (ERUM) and a helicopter from the Executive Directorate of Condor Air Services.

Likewise, personnel from the Undersecretariat for Traffic Control carried out road works on the avenues and streets surrounding the Zócalo, with the aim of guaranteeing vehicular and pedestrian mobility for citizens.

Due to the detours and traffic closures that are planned, the Eje 1 Norte, Eje 1 Oriente, Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas, José María Izazaga avenue and Doctor Río de la Loza avenue were put as road alternatives.

Other groups and artists that have performed in the Zócalo of Mexico City this year are Grupo Firme, Silvio Rodríguez, La Maldita Vecindad and Los Tigres del Norte.
