“The increase in rainfall in recent weeks has caused the increase in the dam level, so it is necessary to begin to vent the water,” he said.
The state official explained that the facilities of the derivative dam of the System Aqueduct II -To supplies water to the Metropolitan Zone of the State- are found in the Moctezuma River (which is the main tributary of the water that is ventured from Zimapán), therefore, the system operation will stop while this process is carried out to ensure that the pumping equipment is not damaged.
In that sense, he informed that during the period of the dentiness the supply of drinking water will be affected in the municipality of Querétaro, as well as in some towns of Corregidora and the Marquis; Therefore, the CEA will launch the well system to address the water supply, in some areas they will also implement pipes to distribute the resource.
“The service through the network will be presented irregularly, at different times during the course of each day. Our efforts are focused on maintaining balance in water supply, so that it reaches the greatest number of people, responding to a principle of equity,” he said.
Due to the shortage of water that will affect during the next few days, it made an urgent call to the population to take savings and storage measures of the liquid.
In accordance with the CEA, if the climatic conditions allow it and the provisions of the federal instances, once the lag will end will reactivate the aqueduct II, estimating that the service is normalized slowly and gradually to prevent the infrastructure from being affected by the pressure of the liquid.
