MIAMI, United States.- The only baby who was injured in the explosion of the Saratoga Hotel on May 6. The boy Arón Dávila González is now out of danger and has left the hospital, according to what his mother said on the Cuban Television National Newscast.

The woman said that on the morning of the accident she was walking down the street with her two-year-old child, since the little one was due for the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I have the child loaded and when I go through the separator of the Saratoga I feel an explosion. I don’t know where he took the child, nor did I know anything. I feel that there is a lot of dust cloud that I could not see, but I kept calm because I did not know what was around me or if I could fall, but at that moment there was a breeze that let me see the child in front of me, “he said.

In the midst of the chaos there was a boatman who told him “let’s go, let’s go” and was “half tearful because of what had happened,” said Arón’s mother.

“I would like at some point if he is seeing me or any family, that he knows that I want to thank him,” he added.

According to the report, the boatman took Xiomara to the Hermanos Ameijeiras Surgical Clinical Hospital, where the doctors found a wooden object about two and a half inches that “had penetrated the child’s brain like a projectile.”

“Everything was taken care of very well, today the child is without consequences,” the specialist told the state media outlet.

“He is a warrior since he was born,” said the boy’s mother.

Arón was the smallest of the victims of the Saratoga Hotel explosion, and the most critical of those injured for several days, the report said.

The Cuban authorities have attributed the accident from the beginning to a gas leak, however, so far there is no official report of the causes that caused the incident.

The explosion left 46 fatalities and 99 people injured. One of the dead was a Spanish citizen who was visiting the country.

The Hotel Saratoga was semi-destroyed, and wreaked havoc on several of the adjoining buildings, including the El Calvario Baptist Church, the first temple of that religious denomination built in Cuba.
