AREQUIPA, Peru – Yarelis Reyes, a young Cuban journalist and director of the Morón Te Ve municipal telecenter, died this Sunday in Ciego de Ávila, according to several official sources.
The president of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC), Ricardo Ronquillo Bello, mourned the death of his colleague through a publication on Facebook.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the family, especially to her son, and to colleagues (…) We are deeply moved by the death of such a young director of our media and with a precious history of dedication to the profession, to her homeland and to her homeland” , wrote the manager.
Reyes died as a result of a heart attack, sources confirm of public media of communication in the province of Ciego de Ávila.
The young manager began her working life in the sector as head of the youth and children’s editorial team of Radio Morón, and worked as a journalist in radio and television.
On July 26, 2006, she joined the founding group of Morón Te Ve, where she held the positions of Deputy Director of Programming and Information and General Director.
The Board of Directors of the Radio in Ciego de Ávila, and the UPEC made public their condolences to the loved ones of Yarelis Reyes, as well as to the television workers in the province.
The death of Kings joins other deaths within the journalistic union that have transcended in recent months.
At the end of July, the loss of another young communicator, Magda Iris Chirolde, editor-in-chief of the Caribbean Channel’s news spaces, emerged.
The cause of death of the 33-year-old girl was not specified by any source.
“Before assuming responsibilities in the Canal Cuban News, Magda, native of Pinar del Ríowas part of the team newspaper provincial Guerrilla and from the magazine Technical Youth”, posted on Facebook the Caribbean Channel.
