A snowman made with disposable cups has been on display since Tuesday night in the 1 de Mayo square in Yapacaní, thanks to the hands of Katia Janco, who took three weeks to put it together. “My mother sells soft drinks, I washed and saved what her clients left behind. I also used more than 400 two-liter soda bottles to assemble the gift boxes that are part of the decoration”, Katia explained excitedly when she saw the inauguration of the promenade.
Christmas trees were also made from pieces of wood, and cardboard boxes were used to transform them into gifts. The municipality’s Environment staff worked for nearly two weeks to dress up the square to celebrate the end-of-year festivities.

The municipal orchestra enlivened the lighting of Christmas lights that took place on Tuesday night with the participation of authorities and neighbors who came en masse to the town’s main square to take pictures and enjoy with family.
The director of Human Development of the Mayor’s Office, Marcial Escalante, reported that the recent rains delayed the decoration of the square, and after an intense week of work it was ready. Officials from all municipal departments participated.
