Cuban outfielder Randy Arozarena hit a three-run homer and the Tampa Bay Rays achieved a victory on Tuesday to exacerbate the bad moment that the New York Yankees are experiencing.
Arozarena hit his second three-run homer in his last three games, adding to 16 homers and 62 RBIs on the season.
The Yankees continue to be in a tough spot offensively, having only produced one run in their last 27 innings.
Cuban third baseman Yandy Díaz and Mexican Isaac Paredes scored a run each.

Left-hander Nestor Cortes (9-4) only allowed Arozarena’s three-run homer in the first inning, but it was enough for him to take the loss after pitching seven three-strikeout innings.
Angels 2-8 Mariners
Dominican outfielder Julio Rodríguez hit three hits, including a four-corner stick, scored and drove in two runs to lead the Seattle Mariners to victory at their visit to the Los Angeles Angels.
The Mariners, with a record of 64-54, remain in the lead of the first Wild Card qualifying for the American League postseason.
Adam Frazier stepped on the plate twice and led two teammates to the register; Ty France also had two RBIs.
Venezuelan Luis Rengifo hit a home run and drove in both of the Angels’ runs in the game.
Marlins 4-3 Padres
Nick Fortes homered twice and scored three times, including the go-ahead run as the Miami Marlins beat the San Diego Padres.
Dominican Edward Cabrera started for the Marlins and pitched four shutout innings, retiring seven by way of strikeout, to go out without a decision.
The Venezuelan Jesus Aguilar he had an RBI by the Marlins.
Manny Machado drove in three runs; Juan Soto scored a lap and Jurickson Profar from Curaçao stepped on the plate once.
Blue Jays 2-4 Rays
Third baseman Ramón Urías drove in the go-ahead run and scored a lap to help the Baltimore Orioles win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Adley Rutschman and Cedric Mullins each homered for the Orioles.
Dean Kremer (5-4) pitched seven two-run innings for the victory and Felix Bautista (7) pitched the ninth without incident to earn the save for the winners.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a two-run homer for the Blue Jays.
Pirates 3-5 Red Sox
Mexican Alex Verdugo scored and drove in a run and Puerto Ricans Christian Arroyo and Kike Hernández drove in a lap as the Boston Red Sox beat the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Nick Pivetta (9-9) pitched masterfully over seven innings, striking out six to give Boston the win.
Ben Gamel had three runs on the scoreboard for the Pirates.
White Sox 4-3 Astros
Cuban Yoan Moncada hit a single to break the tie in the eighth inning and the Chicago White Sox came through the big door in their duel with the Houston Astros.
In a matchup marked by two American League Cy Young contenders, the Astros’ Justin Verlander pitched seven innings of three runs and four strikeouts; and Dylan Cease of the Chicago White Sox went through five acts and was scored on three times. Both left without decision.
Cuban José Abreu scored a run for the White Sox.
José Altuve hit the ball out of the park for the Astros.
Brewers 5-4 Dodgers
Puerto Rican Víctor Carantini hit an RBI hit in the eleventh inning and in this way the Milwaukee Brewers left the Los Angeles Dodgers on the field in extra innings.
Willy Adames and outfielder Christian Yelich hit the ball over the wall for the Brewers.
Joey Gallo, Chris Taylor and Mookie Betts deposited the ball in the stands for the Dodgers.
Twins 9-0 Royals
Gio Urshela of Colombia drove in two runs and Luis Arraez scored twice as the Minnesota Twins crushed the Kansas City Royals.
Gilberto Celestino hit a full-lap shot and Byron Buxton reached the buzzer twice for the Twins.
Zack Greinke (4-8) took the mound for the Royals and lost the game, later allowing one run in six innings of work.
