The writer Félix Sánchez Rodríguez dies

On the afternoon of this Saturday, July 26, the writer Félix Sánchez Rodríguez (1955-2025) died.

Narrator, essayist, writer for children and researcher, born in the town of Avileño de Ceballos, worked in Editions Ávila, was head of writing of the cultural magazine VIDENCIAand researcher at the “Dr. Enrique Sosa” Culture Research Center of that province.

Among his most prominent books are Zugzwang (Novel, UNEAC Award, 2004; Ediciones Unión, 2005), The confines of death (Story, Julio Cortázar Award 2010; Editorial Letters Cubanas, 2010), The wheels of fortune (Novel, Guillermo Vidal 2009 Prize; Ediciones Unión, 2011), The naked heart (Story, Alejo Carpentier Award, 2018; Editorial Letters Cubanas, 2018).

For children and young people wrote Casers (Poetry, Editorial Nueva, 1984), Horse (Tenths, Editorial Ávila, 1991), Tear (Novel, Eliseo Diego Award, 1999; Editorial Ávila, 2002) and The Moon Train (Poetry, Editorial Ávila, 2004).

Another sensitive loss for Cuban culture.
