According to the World Innovation Index 2022 carried out by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)the Dominican Republic shows notable progress in the areas evaluated with respect to previous periods.
Bartholomew Pujalsexecutive director of the Innovation Cabinet, explained that the World Innovation Index established that, in relation to market development, the Dominican Republic advanced 20 positions compared to 2021 and achieved 21 points compared to 2020.
In institutional matters, the country managed to advance 18 positions in 2020 and 16 compared to 2021.
Pujals explained that in terms of business development, the country advanced 3 positions compared to 2021. While regarding the production of knowledge and technology, the country achieved 13 positions compared to 2021.
In the infrastructure pillar, the rating was positive because the nation advanced 6 positions compared to 2021 and 8 compared to 2020.
The official maintained that with regard to human capital, research and the development of creative products there was a setback.
In human capital and research Dominican Republic it lost 6 positions compared to 2021 and 8 positions compared to 2020.
In creative products, the country fell 4 positions compared to 2021 and 6 positions compared to 2020.
