In recent days, the company awarded the project resumed work on the property and it is estimated that the inauguration will take place in the middle of next May.
In the act carried out this Friday 1st at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, in addition to Lema and Mieres, the Undersecretary of Mides, Andrea Brugman, and the National Director of Employment, Daniel Pérez, were present.
The agreement provides knowledge to access the labor market for people covered by Mides programs. Among the potentialities, information, guidance and support will be included so that they can register through the Vía Trabajo portal. In this context, they will carry out work practices performing tasks of value in the public sector, for which they will receive a monthly transfer equivalent to the national minimum wage.
The employment promotion law encourages the hiring of young people, people with disabilities and people over 45 years of age, by granting subsidies to companies.
Pablo Mieres highlighted the Government’s drive for social policies. In this sense, he indicated that if someone in a vulnerable situation gets a job, he does not lose the benefits received, as was the case before, and mentioned that the purpose is to help that population even more.
“Social integration supposes that citizens can live by their own effort and do not depend eternally on State policies and aid”, he considered.
On the occasion, he recalled the data from the household survey, which showed an unemployment rate of 7.3%, which he classified as low. He compared that in the last quarter of 2021 the average was 7.5%, that in January it was 7.4% and, in February, 7.3%.
“Not only did we recover the employment situation prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and before 2019. We must continue to recover,” he said. In addition, he encouraged employers to use this type of agreement, because they generate equity.
In his turn, Martín Lema stressed that joint actions also deepen the possibilities of social inclusion. He reported that this initiative originated in the National Employment Directorate, in September 2021.
On the other hand, he announced that the Accesos program, which will begin in May 2022, will generate opportunities for 3,000 participants between the ages of 18 and 64, with an emphasis on women and young people.
Through this agreement, “protected work is provided and real autonomy is sought, regardless of receiving provisions from the ministry,” said Lema, who stressed that, as companies fill the Mides quotas, they will have priority access to the selection of staff and older subsidies.
