The Brazilian women’s football team met their opponents for the first friendlies of 2026. Amarelinha will face Costa Rica, Venezuela and Mexico, between the end of February and the beginning of March. All matches will be away from home, according to an announcement made by the CBF this Monday (2).
“It is very important to have these three games on this FIFA Date. We will face teams that are rapidly growing in women’s football, with different game models, which presents us with difficulties that are important in the planning and preparation process of the Brazilian team for this year and also with a view to the 2027 World Cup in Brazil”, said Cris Gambaré, coordinator of women’s teams at CBF.
The first match for the team led by coach Arthur Elias will be against Costa Rica, on February 27, at 7 pm (Brasília time), in the city of Alajuela. The Costa Ricans were semi-finalists in the last edition of the Confederation of Football Associations of North, Central America and the Caribbean (Concaf), in 2022. On that occasion, Costa Rica was eliminated by the United States, which would later win the title.
On March 4th, at 3pm, the Brazilians will face the Venezuelans, at the Mexican Federation Training Center, in Toluca. Three days later, at 5pm, the team faces Mexico, the current Pan-American champion, in Mexico City.
