The Bolivian women’s futsal team won the third place in the friendly international championship called Grand Prixwhich took place in Xanxerê, Santa Catarina (Brazil), from the 10th to the 14th of this month.
La Verde hung the bronze medal by beating Venezuela in the match for third place. In regulation time the match ended goalless and it was in the kicks from the penalty spot that Bolivia won 5-4.
at the grand prix six national teams participated and it was played at the Ivo Sguissardi Sports Center. Two groups of three teams were formed, in group A were Brazil, Belgium and Bolivia; while series B was made up of Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Bolivia’s first match was against host Brazil, with which he lost 5-0; However, in their second and last game of the first phase, they beat Belgium 2-1 and got a ticket to the semifinals.
In ‘semis’ his rival was Paraguay, team that achieved first place in their group. Bolivia fell 4-2 and for that reason they had to play the game for third place with Vinotinto.
The Bolivian team was made up of Elizabeth Limachi, Karla Ticona, María Cristina Gálvez, Yoselín Portales, Ivonne Nina, Yhaneth Nina, Martha Chura, Alexandra Montalvo, Ana Huanca, Ruth Copa, Sonia Turihuano, Dayana Jiménez, Ingrid Siles, Mariana Ortega and Kimberly López.
