The culture Ministry announced the winners of National Carnival Parade 2022held on Sunday, March 6 at the boardwalk of Santo Domingoin which more than 10 thousand carnival people from the country’s provinces participated in parades, floats and as individual characters.
The Great Comparsa of Villa Consuelo Nomadic Tribes of Africa, from the National District, was the winner of the Big prizewhich has an endowment of 1 million pesos.
Likewise, 20 additional prizes were awarded, whose amount was increased this year to 4 million pesos, distributed among nine categories.
When congratulating the winning troupes, the Minister of Culture, Milagros Germán, stressed that selecting the winners was not an easy task for the jury, due to creativity and wide participation, which is a good example of the work of cultural industries. that this government is promoting.
The award ceremony will take place in the populous neighborhood of Villa Consuelo, where the winning comparsa of the Big prize. That will also be the stage for the delivery of the Luis Días Award, instituted by the current administration with the aim of promoting talent and musical creation.

In the Traditional Devils category, the first place was obtained by the troupe Los Taimáscaro from Puerto Plata, the second place went to Los Lechones from Santiago, while the third place went to the comparsa Manifestaciones del Carnaval Municipal, from Miches.
In the Fantasy Devils category, first place went to Los Diablos de San Carlos, El arte de cultivar la tierra, from the National District; second place went to Los Incomparables de Villa Consuelo, Thai Fantasy, Yaksha and Garuda, from the National District; while Diablos de Fantasia, from San Cristóbal, won third place.
In the Traditional category, first place was obtained by Los Tiznaos from Hacienda Estrella, from North Santo Domingo; Second place went to Carnival Traditions, from the National District, while third place went to Gagá and Cultura La 30, from San Pedro de Macorís.
In the Historical line, the first place went to African Roots, from Guachupita, National District; second place went to Batey Maguana, from San José de Ocoa, and third place went to Sangre Africana, from Guachupita, National District.
In the Popular Creativity category, first place went to Grita la Naturaleza, from Puerto Plata; second place went to El Ejército del Diablo, from San Juan de la Maguana, while third place went to Diablos Ecológicos, from San Cristóbal.
In the Fantasy category, first place went to Los Guerreros, Imperio de Fuego, from Villas Agrícolas, National District; second place went to Los Burlones de San Carlos, from the National District, while third place went to Tan Dominicano Como Tú, from San Cristóbal.
In the Ali Babá category, first place was won by Katrinas in Carnival, The Festival of the Dead of Villa María, in the National District; second place went to Los Guardianes del Trono Real from Villa Francisca, from the National District, and third place went to Los Rumberos, from Santo Domingo Este.
In the Individual Character line, the first place was obtained by El Maquey, from Puerto Plata; the second place went to El Guardian del Bosque, from Constanza, while the third place went to I’m Ready, from North Santo Domingo.
The winners in each of the aforementioned categories obtained prizes of RD$200,000 for first place, RD$100,000 for second place, and RD$50,000 for third place, respectively.
In the Mask line, the first place went to Juan José Acevedo, with “La cabuya está beating”; second place went to Darío Victoriano, with El Guardian del Bosque, while third place went to Ruddy Lendor, with Revelation Carnavalesca.
In this category, the prizes had an endowment of RD$75,000 for the first place; RD$50,000 for the second and RD$25,000 for the third, respectively.

The jury that was in charge of choosing the winners was chaired by the cultural manager Senia Rodríguez and made up of 18 national culture experts.
