With the writing of a new article, this Tuesday the inconvenience that left the Gender Courts without financing was resolved. This was announced by the president of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), John Pérez Brignani, at the exit of a meeting with Vice President Beatriz Argimón and the coordinators of the government coalition.
“Seeing that an article was going to be tested that left us without resources and that meant throwing back 10 years of advances in computer science, we asked for a meeting with all the benches,” explained the magistrate.
Pérez Brignani assured that “it was a very good meeting”. “We were received by the president (of the Senate) and all the caucus leaders,” he explained.
The president of the SCJ explained that “an intermediate way out” was found that “solved the problem” through the drafting of the article proposed by the general director of the Administrative Services of the Judicial Power, Marcelo Pesce.
According to Pérez Briganani, this new wording “contemplates a triple objective. Financing is obtained for the Gender Courts, the progress of the judicial network is maintained and it is aimed at a higher level and in the interior the problem of publishing all the edicts of the Judicial Power is addressed”.
This will allow all the Gender Courts to be developed. “One is already in operation, while the others are, due to building issues, in preparation: the one in Salto and Rivera. In Rivera’s the matter is in the hands of the Ministry of Transportation, we try to speed it up, but things are slow, ”he explained.
