Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner thanked the blocks of senators and deputies from the front of all who expressed their support for him during a meeting in the Blue Room, before whom he reviewed what happened on Saturday in the Recoleta neighborhood and called for “paying attention” to the risk that “they want to take away without giving us anything” the country’s natural wealth , such as “food, energy and lithium”.

At the closing of the meeting, held behind closed doors and with the presence of the majority of the legislators of the ruling party, the head of the Senate criticized the opposition of Together for Change for unleashing an “incomprehensible repression” and “wanting to resolve internal positions based on these issues”in reference to the public exchanges between Patricia Bullrich and officials of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta due to the actions of the City Police.

About that point, the Vice President questioned the operation that the CABA police deployed on Juncal street and in the vicinity of her homewhich after the placement of fences led to bullfights, palazos and arrests, and considered it a sign of “irrationality and irresponsibility in the exercise of government.”

“Really, when you see the protagonists of what happened last Saturday, you see that you find the same or almost the same protagonists of what happened in 2001”assured when linking some leaders of Together for Change with the government of the radical Fernando De la Rúa.

For Fernández de Kirchner, what was seen on Saturday in Recoleta was “that dispute of believing that authority is pressure, of pressure, of madness, of false authority,” and he remarked that “it was the same (madness) that led him a president in 2001 to sign a decree of a state of siege”.

As the Vice President mentioned, it was the so-called Sushi Group “made up of the president’s sons (by Antonio and Aíto de la Rúa) and a minister who is now the president of the PRO”, Patricia Bullrich, “which prompted him to sign that decree of necessity and urgency to De la Rúa so that he would show authority and not remain a coward”.

“First of all, it worries me to hear someone who had institutional responsibilities and who has them from politics, say: ‘It doesn’t matter what costs the exercise of security may have,'” he insisted.

For Fernández de Kirchner, “that fence” that the City Police installed early to prevent access to his home was “incomprehensible from every point of view”, but he also questioned that in the area planned for the demonstration they have been installed ” dump trucks” with stones, like those used on construction sites.

“The truth is that they tried a provocation, like the one with the dump trucks, and I want to refer to that specifically, because it infuriated me. Two dump trucks are 14 tons (of stones), a block and a half from my house. But thousands of people They mobilized and there was no excess, nothing, absolutely nothing”he pointed.

In addition, the Vice President considered that it is necessary to “rethink” the relationship between the national State, the provinces and the Buenos Aires district, for which she proposed that the issue of this blessed City of Buenos Aires, which is the capital of all Argentines and that, suddenly, a political police (by the City Police) has taken over the security of the streets”.

“This must be reconsidered. First, because the Constitution does not speak of autonomy, it speaks of a statute being issued and also because I believe that this city is the city of all Argentines,” he said.

Secondly, The head of the Senate reiterated that her two terms and that of Néstor Kirchner “were the twelve happiest years in recent decades for the entire Argentine people.”.

“One can discuss certain things, but when one looks at the level of salary, the level of pensions, purchasing power, industrial development, the level of indebtedness, this is what has always worried me the most because it is key in the country the level of indebtedness”, he remarked.

On the other hand, she questioned the allegation of the prosecutor Diego Luciani, who requested a sentence of twelve years in prison and the special perpetual disqualification against her for considering her the head of an illicit association in the so-called ‘Roadway’ case.

The vice president defined the prosecutor’s accusation as a “bad script”, in particular “when he says that all the acts of the powers of the State, all of them, are absolutely reviewable and that it is the judges who have the last word on the acts”.

“Let’s see: I want to continue living in a republican, representative and federal system and in a democracy, essentially, right?” Where the government is elected by the people in free, democratic and proscription-free elections every four years,” he specified.

And expanded: “It seems to me that it is key to leave criminal law to go to constitutional law, how the country is organized and what its power is”.

Finally, Fernández de Kirchner warned that “when we are all happy because we have food, energy and lithium, let’s not just be happy, let’s also be vigilant, because they are going to want to take it away without giving us anything.”

“We have to be very careful, it’s not just labor rights, they’re going to want a maquila with cheap wages to be able to run an absolutely extractivist economy so that there are no benefits left for the country,” he warned, referring to the risks that Argentina faces in the new international stage and about the interest that other countries could have in the advantages offered by their natural resources.

“This is what you have to look at. They come for this, because today we are happy with Vaca Muerta, but Vaca Muerta had to be recovered, because otherwise it wouldn’t be Vaca Muerta, it would be Vaca Viva and it wouldn’t belong to the Argentines and it would belong to other gentlemen”, he deepened when alluding to the process of nationalization of YPF and its impact on the development of the basin of non-conventional fuels in the province of Neuquén and surrounding areas.

The words of the Vice President were made known, officially, through her press office, after a massive meeting in which the majority of the members of the Senate and Deputies blocs were present.

Along with Fernández de Kirchner were the president of the lower house, Cecilia Moreau; and the heads of the blocks of Deputies, Germán Martínez; and from the Senate, José Mayans and Anabel Fernández Sagasti.

In addition to the authorities of the blocks, José Luis Gioja from San Juan was present for Deputies; Luis Cleri, Gisella Marziotta, Daniel Arroyo, Paula Penacca, Eduardo Valdés, Julio Pereyra, Daniel Gollán, Carlos Heller and the head of the Frente de Todos bloc, Germán Martínez.

For the Senate, there were senators Pablo Yedlin, Oscar Parrilli, Silvia Sapag, Mariano Recalde, Edgardo Kueider, Ana María Ianni, José Neder, María Eugenia Duré, Guillermo Snopek and Carlos Linares, in addition to the parliamentary secretary, Marcelo Fuentes, among others.
