The Venezuelan Parliament authorized Félix Plasencia to be ambassador to Colombia

The National Assembly of Venezuela (AN) unanimously approved the appointment of former foreign minister Felix Plasencia as its new ambassador to Colombia so that promote the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between both countries.

“We are going to wish the best of luck to our ambassador (…) who has all the ability to listen, work and all the experience to resume this reconstruction process that the presidents (of both countries) have agreed,” said Jorge Rodríguez, president of Parliament.

According to Rodríguez, both Nicholas Maduro What Gustavo Petro are the key “to this process that begins at this time at breakneck speed” and that is a moment of celebration for the populations and entrepreneurs living in the border region from both countries.

During the authorization to Plasencia, the NA Foreign Policy Commission stressed that the key points that the incoming ambassador should have as a priority are migration and regional security which has deteriorated since 2019.
