The Venezuelan company Conviasa inaugurates the Havana-Moscow air route

OnCubaNews

The Venezuelan state airline Conviasa inaugurated this Saturday a route between Havana and Moscow that “will allow the strengthening of tourist ties at the regional level,” reported the Venezuelan Minister of Transportation, Ramón Celestino Velásquez.

“Today I celebrate another achievement of our flag carrier Conviasa with the inauguration of the Havana-Moscow route, a flight that will allow the strengthening of tourist ties at the regional level. Under the vision of President Nicolás Maduro, the union of the peoples is consolidated, “said the minister in a message posted on his Twitter account.

The flight will have a fortnightly frequency, according to information visible on the Conviasa web portal, where it is ensured that this route is part of the destination expansion plan undertaken by the Venezuelan Government.

The Minister of Transportation announced, on May 30, that the connection between Cuba and Russia is route number 13 of the Venezuelan state airline.

Yesterday, Velásquez reported that Conviasa and Russia’s state airline, Aeroflot, signed a memorandum of understanding to offer more than 100 flight destinations.

The Ministry of Transportation indicated, in a post on Twitter, that this alliance will expand Conviasa’s reach to the eastern hemisphere and to the destinations offered by Aeroflot.

Conviasa already announced last January that it plans to increase its international offer by 30% this year with the recovery of routes in Latin America and the incorporation of connections between cities such as Havana, Damascus, Tehran and Moscow.
