The National Tax and Customs Directorate (Dian) defined the Tax Value Unit (UVT) that will rule by 2022.
(See: Challenges and opportunities left by the pandemic in competitiveness).
According to resolution 140 of November 25, 2021, this value was set at $ 38,004 for next year.
The Dian reported that the modification was calculated with the accumulated variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for average income, between October 1, 2020 and October 1, 2021, for which a 4.67% increase.
(See: They propose that the richest pay a tax to end poverty).
It is worth remembering that, during 2021, the UVT is $ 36,308 and it is modified each year.
The UVT replaced the minimum wage as the unit for measuring taxes and it began to be used since 2006.
This unit defines the values of the taxes administered by its dependency, such as the income statement and the consumption tax, among others. In addition, it has served to set the sales prices per unit that can be purchased on days without VAT.

“To convert the figures and values expressed in UVT applicable to taxes and obligations administered by Dian into absolute values, the number of UVTs is multiplied by the fixed value (for 2022 of $ 38,004) and its result is approximated according to the procedure indicated in the Tax Statute“, Dian complemented.
