The Automotive Tramway Union (UTA) announced Wednesday night suspension of unemployment of urban passenger transport activities of the bus lines of the cities in the interior of the country after having reached an agreement with the Argentine Federation of Automotive Passenger Transporters (Fatap).
Through a statement, the union reported that the agreement was presented “virtually” on Wednesday afternoon before the authorities of the Ministry of Labor.
The UTA announced that it had asked the authorities of that ministry for a hearing for this Thursday at 1 pm for “the ratification of the positions around which this agreement has been reached.”
The organization announced the suspension of the measure of force while waiting for the agreement to be fulfilled in a timely manner and be ratified by the authorities of the Ministry of Transport of the country and of the different provincial jurisdictions.
“We have all the good will to reach an agreement. Now it is the responsibility of the Nation and the provinces to ratify what was agreed with the business sector. That is why we decided to lift this force measure,” the head of the UTA, Robert Fernandez.
Last Monday, the UTA announced that it would carry out a force measure in the face of the “total refusal to agree on the salaries of interior workers”, and that it will be applied throughout the country except for the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), which will affect the bus service on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of this week.
“We inform the workers, the authorities, the users and the public opinion in general, that having exhausted all instances of negotiation promoted by the Ministry of Labor of the Nation, the agreement that we have been demanding has not been achieved,” they expressed. through a statement from the union.
