The use of public services increased 12.1% in May compared to the same month last year and 1.2% compared to April, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) reported on Thursday.

If the indices of the original series are analyzed, in May compared to the same month of 2021, the demand for electricity, gas and water registered an increase of 3.7% and collection a rise of 6.1%.

For its part, both passenger and cargo transport increased by 200.6% and 7.8%, respectively, and passing vehicles paid for tolls grew by 45.7%.

Likewise, the postal service increased 14.3%; while the telephone sector registered a positive variation of 4%.

In seasonally adjusted terms, in May 2022 compared to April, it is observed that the demand for electricity, gas and water registered a rise of 3.8%; waste collection was reduced 5.2%.

Passenger transport rose 3.1% and cargo increased 1.6%.

Passing vehicles paid for tolls showed a decrease of 0.3%; the mail service registered a rise of 11.2% and finally telephony had a negative variation of 0.1%.
