The US would attend a Summit with Cuba and Venezuela: Biden adviser

In dialogue with the EFE agency, the main adviser for Latin America of theto white houseJohn Gonzalezassured that the United States would attend a Summit of the Americas to which the leaders of VenezuelaCuba and Nicaragua to talk with them.

González assured that they will always be willing to talk but that inviting the leaders of these three countries to US territory would have been a “contradiction” in view of its policy of not tolerating human rights violations.

Juan González added that if there is a new Summit of the Americas attended by the current leaders of Cuba, Venezuela or Nicaragua, they would definitely attend because they are not going to “run away from this conversation” about human rights and respect for civil liberties.
