In an interview with the US network, Wright stated: “Mexico has not been asked to interrupt the supply of crude oil to Cuba,” stressing that, although there are political pressures and sanctions against the Cuban Government, there is no formal instruction to block energy exports from the North American country.
The United States assesses that a total cutoff of fuel supplies or an embargo would aggravate Cuba’s already deteriorated electrical network, which suffers rotating blackouts.
