The US unblocks Venezuelan assets, but threatens to use force if Delcy Rodríguez does not cooperate

Washington began the unblocking of Venezuelan assets frozen in its territory in the midst of a dialogue process with the interim Government of Caracas, while direct warnings are being issued from the US to the president in charge of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, about possible consequences if she does not cooperate with the US agenda.

“We are unlocking resources from Venezuela that belong to the people of Venezuela,” he said, recalling that billions of dollars remain held abroad as a result of international sanctions.

Rodríguez’s statements come after assuming the Presidency in charge after the capture of Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, on January 3, in a US military operation in Caracas.

“Rodríguez is fully aware of Maduro’s fate,” the text states, alluding to the pressure exerted by Washington.

Despite these warnings, The president in charge has reiterated that Venezuela is a sovereign country and that it will not accept foreign interferencein a context marked by the partial release of assets, diplomatic dialogue and growing political pressure from the United States.
