The new notice from the United States Federal Aviation Administration did not modify the alert issued on November 21, which led to the suspension of flights by several international commercial airlines and the suspension of operations by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) for six of them.
The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reiterated this Tuesday, December 16, its warning to the main airlines about the “worsening of the security situation” when flying over Venezuela and urged them to take extreme precautions.
“Threats could pose a potential risk to aircraft at all altitudes, including during overflight, the arrival and departure phases of flights, and/or at airports and to aircraft on the ground,” the FAA said in a statement.
This notice was made without modifications to the one issued on November 21, and which led to the suspension of flights of several international commercial airlines and the suspension of operations by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) for six of them.

Since mid-August, the United States has deployed a military operation in the Caribbean Sea to combat drug trafficking in which more than 20 vessels have been destroyed and around 80 people have died, accused of allegedly transporting drugs. Nicolás Maduro’s administration has rejected these actions and described them as a “regime change maneuver.”

According to the pilot, the US Air Force refueling tanker aircraft crossed into the flight path of JetBlue Flight 1112 bound for New York’s JFK Airport.
